Anxiety is a feeling of unease, nervousness or fear that is often characterized by physical symptoms such as sweating, trembling or rapid heartbeat. One may feel restless and have difficulty concentrating. Anxiety is a common experience, and everyone experiences it to some degree from time to time. However, anxiety can become problematic when it is frequent, intense, and interferes with daily activities such as work, school or social relationships.
